School Counselor
Supports student achievement in the areas of academic, career, and personal and social development. We offer guidance as a group, and one-on-one, to help students explore and create a plan to achieve their current and future goals while also providing resources for challenges and barriers.
Social Worker
Assists students with social and/or emotional needs that are creating barriers for learning. This includes, but is not limited to, one-on-one support, healthy coping skills, stress management, peer mediations, community resources/referrals, and crisis intervention.
School Pulse
An online platform that empowers students to be proactive in their mental health and wellness.
School-Based Counseling Services
Tolleson Union High School District partners with two community behavioral health agencies to refer students for Tier III Behavioral, Mental Health, and Substance Abuse Support. Parent/guardian must consent to the services received prior to referral.
Beyond the Bell/Title I Tutoring
Beyond the Bell is a 21st Century Grant funded after-school program offering academic and enrichment opportunities for students of all ages. We offer Title I tutoring sessions before and/or after school in all core subjects.
Peer Mentors & Grit Gurus
Peer mentors are available to meet with students by appointment to assist with things ranging from organizational skills to content-specific tutoring. Counselors schedule meetings. Freshmen students can apply to be paired with a Grit Guru to help them adjust to the workload and rigor of UH.
